This is your Singapore travel guide for all things Singapore museums. This Singapore museum guide lists out all major (and some small+private) museums across the Merlion City. They are organized by location, but if you prefer to search by the type of museum, you can Control+F keywords like “history” “children’s museum” “interactive” “religion” “culture” “military” and/or “art”, and more. Make the most of a rainy day or to escape the heat by visiting a Singapore museum or two!
The most recent update to this Singapore museums blog post was made on March 16th, 2025.

Some things to note about this blog post regarding Singapore museums…
Pricing: All prices are listed for general admission tickets in Singaporean Dollars unless otherwise indicated. It’s worth noting that many places offer children, senior, student rated tickets, family packages, and SG citizen/PR rates. Some places offer free entry for young children under a certain age.
Reservations: 19 of the 50 Singapore museums on this list are completely free for foreigners – other Singapore museums/exhibits (9 on this list) require a time slot reservation via an online booking (same day availability is unlikely), i.e. the Future World Exhibit at the ArtScience Museum. Some establishments require you to book a tour online ahead of time, if you’d like to take a guided tour, assuming you have enough pax to satisfy the minimum requirement – always check the official website!

Hours: Many Singapore museums are closed on Mondays and/or on Public Holidays. All hours are indicated here as well. Some places have occasional maintenance and cleaning closures, especially some art galleries who rotate through exhibits seasonally. Please note that the day’s final admission to most walk-in Singapore museums is 30 minutes to an hour before closing time. It is always a good idea to check the respective Singapore museum’s homepage to ensure that the exhibit you’d like to see is open during your stay.
Closures: Finally, the Maritime Experimental Museum has been closed since 2020. The World of Birdnest Museum has been temporarily closed for several years now. The Live Turtle Museum is relocating in 2025 while the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall is closed until 2027. I wanted to include this, as these Singapore museums still appear in Google searches. The Malay Heritage Centre is also temporarily closed for renovations and is planned to reopen in 2026, however, you can check out a Malay History exhibit at the Indian Heritage Centre.
